Scammers and their schemes to defraud are constantly evolving. They are like viruses. Education is the best way to avoid being victimized. Knowledge protects your finances and personal information. This course will talk about the different types of scams, how you can avoid them, and how to become scam-proof.
Our Speaker: Phil Chin is a volunteer spokesperson for AARP Fraud Watch Network in Maine. After a career as a radio news writer, editor and producer in New York City, Phil retired to Maine and became involved with many community organizations. Phil began his volunteer work with AARP in 2010 where he became an instructor for AARP’s safe driving program. His interests led him to the AARP Fraud Watch Network where he became a lead spokesperson for fraud prevention in Maine. Phil hosts a monthly fraud watch series dedicated to spreading awareness of current scams and how best to avoid falling victim.
